Commentary: A challenge to Rush Limbaugh - CNN.com: "Editor's note: Campbell Brown anchors CNN's 'Campbell Brown: No Bias, No Bull' at 8 p.m. ET Mondays through Fridays. She delivered this commentary during the 'Cutting through the Bull' segment of Friday night's broadcast.

CNN's Campbell Brown says Rush Limbaugh may have a legitimate point, but he's making it the wrong way.
(CNN) -- Thursday night on this program, we spent some time talking about Rush Limbaugh and a piece he had in The Wall Street Journal, arguing there should be more emphasis right now on tax cuts to help the economy.
Our chief business correspondent, Ali Velshi, came on and took issue with some of what Limbaugh said.
Limbaugh responded with this Friday:
Rush Limbaugh: 'Mr. Velshi, you are incompetent. You are a disservice to your business. Except you fit right in at CNN. Disinformation, character assaults. This economy is nowhere near as bad as it was in 1982.'
Let's stop there.
Mr. Limbaugh, you may well have a legitimate case to make about tax cuts and what they can do for the economy.
But the histrionics and name-calling, they undermine anything constructive you might have to say.
Rush, I would love for you to come on this show and debate Ali on the issues.
Make a case for your ideas. Our country is in desperate straits right now and we need ideas.

When you create a bill like that, it doesn't mean you're a pro, it doesn't mean you're a tough, no-nonsense pol. It means you're a slob."

Very interesting move by President Obama - floating the idea of Sen Judd Gregg (R-NH) as Commerce Secretary. New Hampshire has a Democratic Governor, so if he takes the job, the Dems get their 60 in the US Senate. Not that they really need it...

...and in that vein, who do you think the Republican defectors will be in the Senate? Snowe? Graham? McCain? Specter? All of them? I vote Snowe and Specter.

I am really tired of those people who called Rush Limbaugh a hypocrite for wanting tough sentences for drug dealers and Bill Bennett a hypocrite for gambling getting all bent out of shape for me calling President Obama a hypocrite. I mean, this is the same person who wanted all of us to lower the thermostats in our houses to below 72 degrees (mine is set to 68 btw), but yet has the gall to turn up the thermostat in his office to orchid-friendly temperatures. If you don't realize how hypocritical that is, then you're still drinking the kool-aid.

How many swing voters have buyers remorse now?

How can a stimulus bill be stimulating if it does nothing but pay back the people that put the Democrats in office?

How can a stimulus bill be stimulating if only 20% (maximum) of the money in the bill goes to the people who can actually stimulate the economy?

How can a person get a tax cut and a check from the government if they pay no taxes?

I truly and sincerely hope I'm wrong, for the sake of the country. I don't think I am, but I hope so.

How is it "change" when you move out the old Treasury Secretary (who worked for Goldman Sachs) for the new Treasury Secretary (who is a tax cheat) and his 2nd in command (who lobbied for Goldman Sachs). Like Michael Savage says, this is now a country "...of Goldman Sachs, by Goldman Sachs, and for Goldman Sachs."

I certainly hope TheRussianAssassin applies for, and gets, the AJC Conservative Columnist job!

BULLSHIT!!!!

Wow! Just when you start feeling sorry for yourself, you read a story like this and it puts your perceived troubles into perspective.

I guess my Mother’s words still hold true, “Be happy with what you have, because there’s always someone hurting worse than you.”.

I mean, we can get martinis here in Atlanta for $7 and $8. The martinis in NYC are $14 and $15……………..and now these girls have no one to pick up the tab for them.

These girls might now actually have to buy their drinks when they go out. What is this world coming to?????

Do you think there’s a place in The Messiah’s stimulus plan for these girls?

Go slide down a shit rope, ladies!

Brrr....it's cold outside!

Hypocrite, thy name is Obama

But it's nice and warm in the Oval Office!

Remember when President Obama said this:

We can’t drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times … and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK.

But of course, that doesn't apply to him now, does it?

“He’s from Hawaii, O.K.?” said Mr. Obama’s senior adviser, David Axelrod, who occupies the small but strategically located office next door to his boss. “He likes it warm. You could grow orchids in there.”

Typical liberal "The American people need to sacrifice for XXXX (insert straight-ticket Democrat pet project name here). But not me. YOU need to sacrifice. I need to keep my XXXX (insert offending item here, i.e., SUV, private jet, 75 degree thermostat setting). I need it."

Hypocritical at best.

All I see are CEOs coming into and out of Washington, DC.

The White House - Blog Post - CEOs at the White House: "In the end, the answer to our economic troubles rests less in my hands, or in the hands of our legislators, than it does with America's workers and the businesses that employ them. They are the ones whose efforts and ideas will determine our economic destiny, just as they always have. For in the end, it's businesses -- large and small -- that generate the jobs, provide the salaries, and serve as the foundation on which the American people's lives and dreams depend."

Judge Uses Vulgar Language As She Is Charged -- Courant.com

"The video shows an uncooperative Cofield continually interrupting state police Sgt. Dwight Washington, who was asking a series of questions while processing her on the DUI charge at the Glastonbury police headquarters. At 2:17 a.m. on Oct. 10, nearly two hours into the booking at headquarters, Cofield is seated at a desk and calls her husband on her cellphone.

Washington, who like Cofield is black, is standing about 3 feet away...
Her end of the conversation, in part, is:
"I don't need a ride home. ... I'm a criminal. ... What? What? ... Well, they got the head n----- in charge and he … Which one, the head n----- in charge? … Washington. OK.
That's H-N-I-G...."

Then she hands the phone to Washington, who talks to her husband about getting the car off the highway. Washington asks, "Do you guys have Triple-A?"
Hearing that, Cofield interjects: "Oh, no. We don't. We're ghetto Negroes. We don't have Triple-A."Earlier, when asked if she was injured, Cofield replied: "Yeah, I am. I'm humiliated by your f-----g attitude."

Asked if she was ill, Cofield replied, "I'm sick of being treated like a freaking Negro from the 'hood," and added: "Write it down, write it. Did you hear what I just said?"
Asked what her illness was, Cofield said: "Negro-itis."
"Do you need to take any medication now?" Washington asked."Yeah, I need to take anti-Negro, ummm ..."When he asked what she weighed, Cofield replied: "Why don't you look at me, tell what you think?"
Asked how much alcohol she had had that day, Cofield replied: "I had no alcohol to drink, Mr. Washington."
Cofield often talked over Washington as he tried to question her, saying again and again that she needed to go to the bathroom.
Washington politely insisted that she answer the questions first, and said that she could get to the bathroom sooner if she did so.

"That's your interpretation, but we'll see what they say in court, won't we, Mr. Washington?" she said.

Washington asked if she was willing to take an intoxication test. She replied: "Mr. Negro Washington.   I need to go to the bathroom, and then I will take the test."
"It's Sgt. Washington," he replied, adding, "Don't disrespect me, and I won't disrespect you."

At another moment, after she had given a urine sample, Cofield asked Washington: "Do you have a reading on my urine test, Negro trooper?"

When asked to sign a form that she understood her rights, Cofield said, "I'm not signing anything, because when it comes down to the bottom line, who's smarter — me or you?   We'll figure it out, won't we?"

Asked if she took any drugs, Cofield responded: "Oh, yeah, I'm a crack addict. Do I look like that to you?"

Then she directed her attention to the first state trooper on the scene of her accident and asked him,
"Can you tell me why you came first, and then you had to bring him [Washington]? Is it because you had to make this valid by bringing a Negro?"

Cofield was originally appointed in 1991 as the state's first black female judge after Gov. Lowell P. Weicker Jr. nominated her and legislators confirmed her.

She was last renominated by Gov. M. Jodi Rell and approved by lawmakers in 2007.   Her current term expires on June 6, 2015.

Cofield apologized Dec. 8 at Superior Court in Manchester for sideswiping a state police car with her BMW, and was accepted into an alcohol education program.   If she successfully completes the program, the charges — driving under the influence and failure to drive in the proper lane — will be dismissed.

About 10:45 p.m. on Oct. 9, Cofield, 60, was driving through a highway construction zone on Route 2 in Glastonbury when her car sideswiped a parked state police cruiser occupied by Trooper Michael Kowal.

Prosecutor John Whalen said that the judge's eyes were bloodshot and that she smelled of alcohol. Urine samples showed her blood alcohol content was 0.16 percent at 1 a.m. on Oct. 10 and 0.17 percent at 2:04 a.m., he said — twice the legal limit of 0.08 percent.

State legislators had been hoping to view the video, and now will be able to do so and consider whatever decision the Judicial Review Council makes.   Rep. Michael Lawlor, D-East Haven, co-chairman of the legislative judicial committee, has said that lawmakers could theoretically seek Cofield's removal.

He said Monday he believes that the council "will consider whether to recommend that she be removed as a judge. ... I think in many ways the ball is in Judge Cofield's court to convince them that she deserves to remain on the bench.

I think if any legislator, any judge, any prosecutor, any police officer, did the exact same thing ... they probably would end up losing their job."

Facts suck, Hollywood. Get used to it...

Tresury Trash, Timothy Geithner

Remember all the talk of how Norm Coleman or Saxby Chambliss need to be returned to the Senate? Why? To keep the Dummycrats from reaching that sacred goal of 60 which would make it a filibuster proof majority.

Me and my cohorts here laughed heartily at that assumption.... as long as there are putrid piles of fecal matter in the Senate...AKA "RINO's" (Republicans In Name Only), people like Olympia Snowe, Lindsay Graham and John McCan't... the Dummycrats have NOTHING to worry about.

Well, we are not even a week into the new administration and the GOP's that do not want to "reach across the aisle" but instead want to go STAND over in the other side of the aisle, bend over and take it however have shown their sorry faces.

Yeah... what a surprise.

The new treasury secretary, Timothy Geithner, with all his IRS issues in tow has been confirmed by our illustrious Senate. The new Treasury Secretary.... what an important position in this year of 2009. It was a horrible pick by Obama, and it was confirmed by our Senate. Check out these numbers:

The 10 Republicans who voted yes were:
Sens. Bob Corker of Tennessee
John Cornyn of Texas
Mike Crapo of Idaho
John Ensign of Nevada
Lindsey Graham of South Carolina
Judd Gregg of New Hampshire
Orrin Hatch of Utah
Richard Shelby of Alabama
Olympia Snowe of Maine
& George Voinovich of Ohio

The Democrats voting no were:
Sens. Byrd of West Va.
Russell Feingold of Wisconsin
Tom Harkin of Iowa

Also voting no was Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., who caucuses with Democrats.

Senators who were absent:
Sens. Kit Bond, R-Mo.,
Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio,
Edward M. Kennedy, D-Mass.
and Ron Wyden, D-Ore.,

Senate seats representing Minnesota and New York are vacant.

Do you understand what I mean when I say THERE IS NO HOPE?

And people wonder why folks like me and some of my friends are shamed to say we are Republican'ts and don't vote for stooges like John McCain.

As Ronald Reagan said when asked why he left the Dummycrat Party:

"I didn't leave the party, the party left me!"

AHMEN!!! I left quite some time ago in the 90's when worthless candidates like Bob Dole were fielded as the GOP nominee. With nonsense like this going on, I do not see any type of return ANY time soon.

Economy: "THE PRESIDENT'S AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT PLAN
With each passing day, families across America are watching their bills pile up and their savings disappear.
President Obama believes that if we do not act quickly, this recession could linger for years – and America could lose the competitive edge that has served as the foundation for our strength and standing in the world.
That's why the President has put forth an American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan that will jumpstart job creation and long-term growth by:
Doubling the production of alternative energy in the next three years.
Modernizing more than 75% of federal buildings and improve the energy efficiency of two million American homes, saving consumers and taxpayers billions on our energy bills.
Making the immediate investments necessary to ensure that within five years, all of America’s medical records are computerized.
Equipping tens of thousands of schools, community colleges, and public universities with 21st century classrooms, labs, and libraries.
Expanding broadband across America, so that a small business in a rural town can connect and compete with their counterparts anywhere in the world.
Investing in the science, research, and technology that will lead to new medical breakthroughs, new discoveries, and entire new industries.
On January 8th, 2009 -- less than two weeks before taking office -- President Obama spoke on the need for urgent action on his American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan to save or create over 3 million jobs while investing in priorities like health care, energy, and education that will jumpstart economic growth. The plan represents not just a new policy, but a new approach to meeting our most urgent challenges."

RESIDENTS of a model housing estate bankrolled by Hollywood celebrities and hand-built by Jimmy Carter, the former US president, are complaining that it is falling apart.
Fairway Oaks was built on northern Florida wasteland by 10,000 volunteers, including Carter, in a record 17-day “blitz” organised by the charity Habitat for Humanity.
Eight years later it is better known for cockroaches, mildew and mysterious skin rashes.
A forthcoming legal battle over Fairway Oaks threatens the reputation of a charity envied for the calibre of its celebrity supporters, who range from Johnny Depp and Brad Pitt to Colin Firth, Christian Bale and Helena Bonham Carter.
The case could challenge the bedrock philosophy behind Habitat for Humanity, claiming that using volunteers, rather than professional builders, is causing as many problems as it solves.
April Charney, a lawyer representing many of the 85 homeowners in Fairway Oaks, said she had no problems taking on Habitat for Humanity, despite its status as a “darling of liberal social activists”. She said the charity should have told people that part of the estate had been built on a rubbish dump.

Liberal compassion in practice

Where’s the compassion?

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/28474480/?gt1=43001

Oh, wait, these guys weren’t homeless bums smelling up the streets of downtown SF and aggressively accosting tourists.

And they weren’t drug using 19 year old Haight-Ashbury “mothers” of five kids to five different sires.

And they weren’t some guy in the Castro District who, despite years of repeated warnings, shared needles and had hundreds of indiscriminate sex partners, then one day, gee, woke up with AIDS. I get it now.

IF they had only been illegal Hispanic aliens, then SFO would be freely offering them the best medical care the city has to offer……………………………..then suing YOU for their medical costs.

All this………………from a tolerant, compassionate “sanctuary” city……………………and hometown of Nancy Pelosi.
